Netflix Sets March Premiere for Duffer Brothers–Produced Horror Series “Something Very Bad Is Going To Happen”
Netflix is setting a March 26 premiere for Something Very Bad Is Going To Happen, the upcoming horror series from creator Haley Z. Boston and executive producers Matt and Ross Duffer.
Set over the tense week leading up to a wedding destined for disaster, the atmospheric series follows the bride and groom as unease builds and dark forces begin to surface. Weronika Tofilska (Baby Reindeer) directs and executive produces the project, which leans heavily into mood and psychological dread.
Camila Morrone (Daisy Jones and the Six) and Adam DiMarco (The White Lotus, Overcompensating) topline the cast, joined by series regulars Jeff Wilbusch, Karla Crome, Gus Birney, Jennifer Jason Leigh, Ted Levine and Sawyer Fraser.
The Duffer brothers executive produce through their Upside Down Productions banner alongside Hilary Leavitt, with Andrea Sperling also serving as an executive producer. Additional episodes are directed by Axelle Carolyn and Lisa Brühlmann.
The series marks the first non-Stranger Things project from Upside Down Productions to secure a release date. The company also has The Boroughs, starring Geena Davis, Bill Pullman and Alfre Woodard, slated to debut later this year.

First Look: Nicolas Cage Suits Up for Spider-Noir Series
Nicolas Cage is stepping into the small-screen spotlight.
The Oscar winner leads the upcoming live-action series Spider-Noir, marking his first leading role in a television drama. The streamer has unveiled several first-look images featuring Cage as Ben Reilly — also known as The Spider — alongside Lamorne Morris as Robbie Robertson, Li Jun Li as Cat Hardy and Karen Rodriguez as Janet Smart.
Based on the Marvel comic Spider-Man Noir, the series is set in 1930s New York and follows Ben Reilly, a once-renowned masked vigilante who has since fallen on hard times. Now working as a private investigator, Reilly is forced to confront his past after a deeply personal tragedy — and an extraordinary case — pushes him toward reclaiming his former identity as the city’s lone superhero.
In his earlier days, Reilly operated as “The Spider,” a shadowy crimefighter navigating the corruption and violence of Depression-era Manhattan. But after stepping away from the mask, he has settled into a more mundane existence — until circumstances demand he once again embrace the persona he left behind.
Morris plays Robbie Robertson, a determined journalist trying to carve out a career in a city stacked against him. Fiercely loyal to his best friend Ben, Robbie is willing to take risks professionally and personally to get ahead.
Li’s Cat Hardy is the headlining attraction at one of New York’s most exclusive nightclubs. While she appears self-serving on the surface, her true motivations prove more layered. Rodriguez’s Janet Smart serves as Ben’s sharp-tongued and devoted secretary, committed to keeping his struggling detective agency afloat and unafraid to challenge him when necessary.
The ensemble also includes Abraham Popoola, Jack Huston and Brendan Gleeson. Guest stars feature Lukas Haas, Cameron Britton, Cary Christopher, Michael Kostroff, Scott MacArthur, Joe Massingill, Whitney Rice, Amanda Schull, Andrew Caldwell, Amy Aquino, Andrew Robinson and Kai Caster.
Spider-Noir will premiere worldwide this spring. The series will first debut domestically on MGM+’s linear channel before rolling out globally on Prime Video in more than 240 countries and territories.

God of War Series Casts Callum Vinson as Atreus
God of War has found its Atreus.
Callum Vinson (Chucky, Long Bright River) has been cast as Atreus, the 10-year-old son of Kratos (Ryan Hurst), in Prime Video’s series adaptation of PlayStation’s mythology-driven video game franchise. The project hails from Sony Pictures Television and Amazon MGM Studios.
In the series, Atreus is raised in near-total isolation in a remote forest cabin, spending most of his childhood under the care of his mother, Faye. An accomplished archer with a deep affinity for animals, Atreus is defined by his curiosity about the world beyond the forest. Following his mother’s death, he is left in the care of Kratos — a distant, emotionally guarded father whom he barely knows. Despite the strained relationship, Atreus longs for his father’s approval and is determined to prove that he is strong enough to survive in an unforgiving and dangerous world.
The adaptation comes from writer, showrunner and executive producer Ronald D. Moore (Outlander, For All Mankind). God of War centers on Kratos and Atreus as they set out on a perilous journey to scatter the ashes of Faye. Along the way, Kratos attempts to teach his son how to be a better god, while Atreus, in turn, challenges his father to learn how to be more human.
The role marks Vinson’s third collaboration with Sony Pictures Television. He appears in the upcoming third season of Netflix’s The Night Agent and previously starred in Peacock’s Long Bright River. Vinson recently wrapped his fourth series lead, playing Jason Voorhees in Peacock’s Friday the 13th prequel Crystal Lake. His additional credits include a series regular role as Henry Collins in season three of Syfy/Peacock’s Chucky and the feature film Coup!.

Nia Sondaya Upped to Series Regular as Teen Akilah in Yellowjackets Final Season
Yellowjackets is keeping one of its younger survivors around a little longer.
Nia Sondaya, who has recurred as Teen Akilah since season two of Showtime’s hit survival drama, has been promoted to series regular for the show’s upcoming fourth and final season.
The move follows a tense season three finale that left Akilah’s fate uncertain. The character disappeared after confronting Teen Lottie (Courtney Eaton), rejecting the increasingly disturbing “Wilderness” visions and making it clear she would no longer follow Lottie’s lead — a moment that raised questions about whether Akilah had escaped, gone into hiding or met a darker end.
Created and executive produced by Ashley Lyle and Bart Nickerson, Yellowjackets centers on a group of highly skilled high school girls’ soccer players who survive a plane crash in the remote northern wilderness. Blending survival thriller, psychological horror and coming-of-age drama, the series tracks the team’s descent from a competitive unit into fractured, feral clans, while also following the adult survivors nearly 25 years later as they struggle to reconcile who they became with who they once were.
Season three starred Melanie Lynskey, Christina Ricci, Tawny Cypress, Lauren Ambrose, Sophie Nélisse, Jasmin Savoy Brown, Sophie Thatcher, Samantha Hanratty, Courtney Eaton, Liv Hewson, Steven Krueger, Warren Kole, Kevin Alves, Sarah Desjardins and Simone Kessell. Elijah Wood appeared in a recurring role, while Hilary Swank guest starred alongside Joel McHale and Ashley Sutton.
With Sondaya’s promotion, Akilah is poised to play a more central role as Yellowjackets heads into its final chapter — and as the mysteries of the wilderness continue to close in.
