Blackpink’s Lisa Reunites With The White Lotus Producer David Bernad for Netflix Rom-Com
Lisa, the Thai rapper, singer, dancer and actor best known as a member of global pop phenomenon Blackpink, is set to headline a new romantic comedy for Netflix, reuniting with The White Lotus executive producer David Bernad following her acting debut in the HBO series’ third season.
Details of the story are being kept under wraps, but sources say the project was born during production on The White Lotus, where Bernad and Lisa bonded over a shared affection for the 1999 rom-com classic Notting Hill, starring Julia Roberts and Hugh Grant. That mutual inspiration led the pair to develop the premise before bringing on Katie Silberman — the writer behind Set It Up and Booksmart — to pen the script.
Bernad will produce the film through his Middle Child Productions banner. Silberman, who maintains an exclusive, multi-year creative partnership with Netflix, will also serve as a producer. Lisa and Alice Kang are attached as executive producers.
The project comes as Lisa continues to expand her acting résumé. She is currently at work on her first major feature film role in TYGO, a new installment set within Netflix’s Extraction universe.
